Katona ruhába bújva

Katona ruhába bújva, várom a csodát,
hogy megvédjem, az üres laktanya falát.
Az éj sötétje az őrtoronyba talál,
kergetem a magány komor madarát.

A kínzó vágy újra hozzád sodor,
a szerelem hullámán szívem háborog.
Minden neszben a hangodat keresem,
emléked őrzöm csendben, szüntelen.

Hiányzol nagyon, csókodra vágyom,
tested melege minden édes álmom.
Míg a hajnal fénye, lassan rám talál,
titkon a szívünk egymást öleli át.

Megtaláltam egy régebbi versem, amikor katona voltam, a Drága feleségemnek írtam 1978 – ban.

Dressed in a soldier’s uniform, I wait for a miracle,
guarding the walls of an empty barracks still.
The darkness of night finds me in the watchtower high,
chasing away the somber bird of loneliness from the sky.

This aching longing carries me back to you once more,
my heart is restless on love’s unending shore.
In every sound I listen for your voice so dear,
your memory stays with me, forever near.

I miss you deeply, I long for your kiss,
the warmth of your body is my sweetest bliss.
While the light of dawn slowly finds its way to me,
our hearts embrace in secret, though apart we may be.

I found one of my older poems from when I was serving in the military. I wrote it for my beloved wife in 1978.
